Key Stage 4

Edexcel GCSE ICT

The GCSE in ICT and GCSE in ICT qualification enable students to become independent and discerning users of ICT, able to make informed decisions about its use and aware of its implications for individuals, organisations and society. Students can acquire and apply creative and technical skills, knowledge and understanding of ICT in a range of contexts as well as develop ICT-based solutions to solve a problem. We aim to develop an understanding of the current and emerging technologies and their impacts both commercially and socially as well as understanding the legal, ethical and environmental issues raised by the development of ICT.

The Edexcel GCSE ICT is broken up into two different units. Unit 1 being the exam Unit and worth 40% and Unit 2 being the coursework unit and worth 60% of the overall GCSE grade.
