BTEC Level 3 sport
The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport is intended to be a practical and theory qualification for post-16 learners wanting to continue their education, and who aim to progress to University and employment, possibly in the sports sector.
The qualification is equivalent in size to 3 A-Levels and has been designed as a full-time, 2-year program at Djanogly City Academy.
The course is;
- 70% coursework modules - consisting of 10 units
- 30% exams - consisting of 4 exams
The course is delivered by qualified PE teachers.
Scholars use academy supplied Google Chromebooks, with work and lessons completed in Google Classrooms

To study BTEC Sport, you should aim to achieve at least 5 GCSE grades at level 4 or above, including; PE/Sport, English and mathematics.
We now have five options to study BTEC Level 3 Sport here at Djanogly City Academy.
Option 1 - BTEC Sport Only
Option 1 offers BTEC Sport in its simplest form - give you time outside of college. This time might be used to study, practice sport of work part-time.
It includes 16 hours of teaching time within the academy. 4 mornings per week and 1 afternoon per week, leaving you plenty of free time for whatever else you choose to do.
Option 2 - BTEC Sport & Nottingham Forest Football
Option 2 offers a great opportunity to work and train alongside your studies. Offering consistent and effective football training with Nottingham Forest football.
It includes 16 hours of teaching time within the academy. In addition to this, there is football training two afternoons a week and a match one afternoon per week.
Option 3 - BTEC Sport & PMG Football
Option 3 offers a great opportunity to work and train alongside your studies with PMG Football. They have an outstanding record of players progressing into academic and first teams around the world. For example Arvin Appiah, England Youth International and Nottingham Forest professional.
Option 4 - BTEC Sport & PMG Basketball
Option 4 offers a great opportunity to work and train alongside your studies with Hoops Knowledge Academy. Being coached by Keiren Thompson, BBC Sports Personality Unsung Hero 2019.
Option 5 - BTEC Sport & PMG Boxing and Taekwondo
Option 5 offers a great opportunity to work and train alongside your studies with coaching by Team NTC, who are currently the UK's highest performing team.
